Title
Kimani Perry's Poem about Mashapaug Pond
Subject
Kimani, a 7th-grade student at Sophia Academy in Providence, wrote this poem about Mashapaug Pond and read it at the opening of Reservoir of Memories.
Description
Im the color of green cartoon faces on bad taco tuesday
Sliver travels up my body and into my throat choking me from inside and out
I have trapped my children in me for a better life.
Fishes and gills rise to the top of face like dead picture tattoos
Which they are
I am sick and calling for help
I am Mashapaug Pond
Sliver travels up my body and into my throat choking me from inside and out
I have trapped my children in me for a better life.
Fishes and gills rise to the top of face like dead picture tattoos
Which they are
I am sick and calling for help
I am Mashapaug Pond
